FSSAI Basic Registration

Required for:

  • Petty food businesses
  • Turnover up to ₹12 Lakhs/year
  • Production up to 100 kg/liters per day (excluding milk, meat)
  • Milk handling up to 500 liters/day
  • Slaughtering of up to 2 large animals or 10 small animals/day

The FSSAI registration is issued by the State Licensing Authority and has a 14-digit number starting with '2'.

FSSAI State License

Required for:

  • Medium-sized businesses with turnover between ₹12 Lakhs and ₹20 Crores
  • Manufacturers, traders, transporters, and distributors

Issued by the respective State Government, the license number starts with '1'.

FSSAI Central License

Required for:

  • Large-scale food businesses with turnover above ₹20 Crores
  • Import/export businesses, large manufacturers, and food chains

Issued by the Central Government, this license is mandatory for inter-state and international food businesses.

FSSAI License Validity & Renewal
